Spring is on the horizon (I really hope) and with that comes all the 2015 Spring fashion trends I can’t wait to jump into.  Many of these trends are actually revamped versions of styles we’ve worn before, meaning we don’t have to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe 😉 So, what are you waiting for? From denim to luxe leather looks, these are the pieces you’ll need to make the transition in style.

1. Spring 2015 Trends: Denim

Denim1Valentino jeans? Yes, please. Once considered a fashion faux pas, head-to-toe denim is now a winning look on the runways with everyone from Chloé to Gucci to Fendi putting their spin on the all-American classic.

DenimFrom streetwise labels like Kenzo and Marques’Almeida to those in the highest echelons of fashion denim was really everywhere on the SS 2015 catwalks.

how-to-wear-denim-overallStreet Style: Why don’t you try a jumpsuit! It’s an effortless way to pull off the denim  trend. Follow the lead of the fashion set wearing it with a striped tee and throw on a pair of heels and a clucth to complete the look  — they make the jumpsuit feel less frumpy and more fashion-forward.

My Style: Layer a dress over jeans. The dress-over-pants look has been all over the runways for the past few seasons, so I love the idea of making it fresh with denim. Gold chunky jewelry and a flared leg give it a hint of ’70s appeal — another big trend for Spring 2015…

2. Spring 2015 Trends: Floor-Sweeping Florals

Floral2 “Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking.” Yes, I’ll never get tired of listening to Miranda Priestly chastise a Runway minion, but she does have a point.  :-)

FloralFortunately, designers such as Chanel, Marni and Miu Miu offered thoroughly modern florals for the thoroughly modern woman.

Floral1Think big, bold and unabashedly feminine. Florals: they’re here for good.

Floral3More was certainly more as designers like Céline, Maison Margiela and Giambattista Valli succumbed to floral fever for Spring 2015 with long, flowing dresses and sophisticated matching separates.

Street Style: Slip into a skirt with moody blooms. I love this dark, romantic take on the trend. Even though they’re wearing it during daytime hours, her black off shoulder top/ long sleeve sweater and red lip also make it ready for nighttime. It could be a fun and unexpected take on typical eveningwear.

This easy sleeveless style by Alice+Olivia feels effortless, and because it’s such a vibrant statement piece on its own, you don’t even need jewelry.

3. Spring 2015 Trends: Ladylike Leather

LeatherBlame climate change or blame the fact that these clothes arrive in stores in the dead of Winter, but designers are pushing Spring 2015 leather like never before.

Leather1Nobody made a better case for the stuff than J.W. Anderson in his first women’s collection for the Spanish leather goods house Loewe.

Leather2In shades of caramel to bright white and soft pastels, Proenza Schouler, Prada and Trussardi all showed leather looks on their Spring 2015 runways in refined and feminine silhouettes that defied the material’s typically sultry reputation.

Street Style: Go tonal with a leather skirt teamed with a top in a similar shade. For me, theese outfit encapsulate the signature cool-girl aura of CĂ©line. It’s such a versatile look. You could wear it to work or on the weekends — the skirt’s midi length keeps the ensemble sophisticated and sleek whatever the occasion.

LeatherSkirt

My Style: Add an urban edge to your wardrobe with this panel leather skirt. I love the idea of the classic pencil skirt taking on a whole new attitude: take a grey short-sleeved tee that’s just a little roomy and roll up the sleeves, slip on a leather pencil skirt and tuck your tee into it than add heels and a pile on the jewelry and you’re done!
