Stella McCartney has enlisted Natalia Vodianova for the eighth time to appear in a campaign for her label. Shot in the Scottish Highlands by Harley Weir, the campaign represents a return to nature with a touch of wildness, in line with Stella McCartney FW15 collection itself. Both elegant and luxurious, this new collection is in fact comprised of understated but chic designs in natural tones.

In the campaign, Vodianova holds McCartney’s gray Noma bag, which is a soft ruched eco alter Nappa sack cinched with a gold double-link chain, bending her body into graceful poses, with the sky and rugged landscape pieced together in deconstructed collages behind her, to give a topsy-turvy effect to the image. The adv sees Weir working with McCartney for a second season. McCartney styled the campaign, while hair was by Duffy and makeup by Lauren Parson.

Natalia_Vodianova_StellaMcCartney_AW15aMcCartney, who married in Scotland and spent some of her childhood there, feels an affinity with the place and describes it as “one of the most magical, inspiring places on the planet.” She went on to say that “There is a masculinity to Scotland that complemented the femininity of the images we created. It is a very honest place, and to be outside with all of that nature brought a beautiful, gentle side to the photographs.

The first images from the video teaser below, which alternate between blistering fast and deliberately slow, show Natalia Vodianova becoming one with untamed nature and the surrounding countryside. The model is wearing sophisticated outfits, occasionally accessorized with pearl necklaces.

The campaign will drop in the September issues and will run as five different images in single and double page spreads.
