Ready those resumes, fashionistas: E! has partnering with Diane von Furstenberg on a reality competition show centering on the fashion designer’s quest to find a global brand ambassador for her label.

diane-von-furstenbergSet to air at the end of this year, “The DVF Project” (working title) promises to give a behind-the-scenes look at von Furstenberg’s empire as she and her team vet a group of ambitious young women. Filmed in New York, the contestants will be seeing jet-setting around the globe to DVF sponsored events, meeting celebrities, working on multi-million dollar campaigns, and producing charity events.

This is not the first time the brand, or its designer, has appeared on reality television; Olivia Palermo and Whitney Port both did a stint working at offices in ‘The Hills’ offshoot, ‘The City’. Palermo continues to be a poster girl for the brand, always seated on DVF’s front row (I imagine that’s the kind of thing a global brand ambassador does). So, who will be the next Olivia Palermo?

“Diane von Furstenberg is one of fashion’s most innovative designers and a true icon who inspires women to seize opportunities,” said Jeff Olde, E!’s EVP of programming and development. “There is a magical, somewhat ‘Willy Wonka’ aspect to the world Diane wants to create with this show. That is if Willy Wonka were a fabulous, glamorous fashion icon willing to share her secrets with talented young women dedicated to learning them.”

Known in the fashion world for creating the iconic wrap dress and for her elaborate, bold printed materials, von Furstenberg was also a guest judge on “Project Runway All Stars.” She is also known for shepherding young talent, particularly women, having served as president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America since 2006 and working with organizations like the Women in the World Foundation.

“I am so thrilled to partner with E!,” said Diane von Furstenberg, “and to grant young women the opportunity to become the women they want to be!”
